Eight dies were used for this slogan for Sydney. These spanned the period 4 September 1939 and 29 April 1941 (at least). There appears to have been a gap in the use of this slogan at Sydney between 5 September 1939 and 4 January 1941. Only at Melbourne was this slogan used during this intervening period and then only in July 1940.
All date stamps for Sydney were boxed.
The main variations are:
- the code number (1, 2, 8 plus no number are recorded);
- the inscription at the base. There are six variations see the Table below.
- the relative positions of the first E of TELEGRAMS relative to the R of Reliable and the E of Effective. In seven of the eight dies, the R is directly above the E.
