Heading and notes:	Form number T.G. 65B. TELEGRAM centered right.
Message area:	Boxed advertisement for ORNAMENTAL TELEGRAMS in top left corner and one of a number of possible war slogans in lower left corner.
Reverse side:	Two slogans - REGISTRATION! ... (on the flap) and YOUR TELEPHONE... (at the base).
Colours (text & envelope):	Dark blue printing on one of two papers.
Size of envelope overall:	80 × 139 mm.

Distinctive characteristics of this form:

opaque envelope;
advertising box for ORNAMENTAL TELEGRAMs and TELEGRAM are at the same level;
flap design changed to rounded peak with curved sides;
has a black wavy line pattern security design inside;
the main distinctions between the varieties are:
9A: printed on medium weight, shiny white paper;
9B: printed on light weight, yellow-brown paper.

	AW-EO-9A. Used opaque delivery envelope P.O. Elizabeth St., Melbourne (8 October 1942). Characteristics: printed on medium weight, shiny white paper.
	AW-EO-9A (reverse). Reverse side of the above delivery envelope. All printings of AW-EO-9 had the same slogans and the same font and format.
	AW-EO-9B. Used opaque delivery envelope. Characteristics: printed on thinner, yellow-brown paper; has a black wavy line pattern security design inside.
