The first step in the process of sending a Telegraphic Money Order required the completion of an order form. This form collected details about:
- amount of money to be transferred;
- recipient of the money;
- Post Office where money was to be paid;
- sender of the money.
The form or at leasta copy - generally also acted as a receipt.

23 November 1964. Receipt form used in Queensland. Form used to send £3 from Kedron to Cairns, Queensland. Charge of 3/- receipted with a 3/- red Waratah. Form has two signatures. |

20 December 1974. Receipt form used in NSW. Form used to send $37 from Brickfield Hill to Armidale NSW. Charge of 72c receipted with a eight 9c Bauxite stamps on reverse. Form has two signatures. |
