  • flap has rounded peak and curved sides.

  • size: 10 × 24 mm;
  • both the lion and the unicorn are on all fours;
  • both the animals are facing away from the shield. The lion is looking at the reader. The unicorn is looking at the shield;
  • the shield is large and elliptical.
An interesting but undated use of this fiormat of envelope is shown at the left. It is for Mr. Heywood at Koonyua and has written in the top left corner:

  • 6d to pay.

The message was presumably sent by the Police Department (?) at Hobart.
