Heading is LAUNCESTON AND WESTERN RAILWAY TELEGRAPH.
Message area: 35 boxes in 7 lines.
Reverse side: Regulations (see below).

Size of form overall: 225 × 218 mm.
Distinctive characteristics of this form:
 The Railway Departments in each Colony also developed telegraph systems within their own networks which could be used by the public to send telegrams within that Colony. These systems were independent of the Post Office systems. The Tasmanian Launceston and Western Railway commenced operations on 10 February 1871 but was taken over by the Colonial Government in the following year. The public used the Railway facilities extensively.

These Regulations were almost exactly the same as for the Regulations printed on the normal ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH delivery forms of Victoria from the early 1860s - the only exception being the addition of Regulation 4.
