Gribble, P.J. (1981) What Hath God Wrought: A history of the Queensland Telegraph Service from 1861. Fabulous book reflecting years of research and personal experiences. Covers almost all aspects of the operation of the Queensland telegraph service.

Perhaps the best book in terms of details written on Australian Telegraphy.
