The Post Office Monthly Circular for May 1969 noted:

"As you are aware, two differently designed greetings telegram envelopes were introduced for use concurrently during 1966. TG. 65F features an emblematical shield surrounded by State floral emblems and TG. 65FA features the equivalent of the word "Greetings" in a number of languages.

A new TG 65F featuring a coloured balloon motif has been printed and it is not intended to reprint the older TG65F or TG65FA envelopes. However in accordance with normal supply procedures, the new TG.65F will not be issued until supplies of the old forms are exhausted.

During the recent annual review of telegram envelope usage, it was noticed that comparatively few TG65FA were being issued from the Supply Branch. As it is desirable to use the remaining supplies of the older envelopes as evenly and as quickly as practicable, it would be appreciated if Postmasters could therefore advise staff concerned to use both types of envelopes in their normal day to day issues, please".
